Revenues Up by 31%, Net Income by 37% HOUSTON, April 26, 2012 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ --PATTERSON-UTI ENERGY, INC. (NASDAQ: PTEN) today reported financial results for the three months ended March 31, 2012. The Company reported net income of $97.3 million, or $0.62 per share, for the first quarter of 2012, an increase of 37% compared to net income of $71.3 million, or $0.46 per share, for the quarter ended March 31, 2011. Patterson-UTI Energy Announces Sale of Flowback Operations

HOUSTON, April 23, 2012 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ --PATTERSON-UTI ENERGY, INC. (NASDAQ: PTEN) today announced that it sold its flowback operations to TETRA Technologies, Inc. in a cash transaction. The sale price was $42.5 million and a subsidiary of Patterson-UTI retained the associated financial working capital of approximately $5 million. Patterson-UTI expects to report a pretax gain of approximately $20 million in the second quarter of 2012 as a result of this transaction.
